Modern Still Life with Mary Blue
Paint the ordinary in extraordinary ways.
Discover how contemporary painters transform everyday objects into bold, expressive paintings through colour, composition, and confident mark-making.
Booking now for my 12 week course, every Monday except during half term.
This course explores still life as a vehicle for developing a personal painting language. Sudents will learn how contemporary painters simplify, exaggerate and reinvent the world around them through colour, shape and gesture.

A distinctive cultural programme that complements the gardens.
A sequence of workshops that deepens your way of seeing, not just your technical skills.

17 June – A Rose by Any Other Name: scale, intimacy, seeing the extraordinary in a single bloom.

22 July – Evening in the Garden: looseness, confidence, gesture, responding to the changing light.
5 August – Colour Blocking: simplifying complexity into bold shapes.
19 August – Shifting Light: observation, patience and the passing of time.
